The Needle

The struggle with nature

The Needle is 2105 metres high ( 6906 feet ), the hike starts at the 1250 metre mark and climbs 855 meters ( 2805 feet ). The round trip is 13 km ( 8 miles ) straight up .

Dan and I started the climb at 10:00 am and finished at around 3:30 pm. it was absolutely fantastic. The views were breath taking and believe me I was out of breath most of the time.

This was one of those father son bonding trips where the father teaches the son age old family wisdom like patience. Dan learned to patiently wait for me to catch up to him.
